Blueberry season has arrived in Alabama, and there’s no sweeter way to celebrate than heading out to a local farm for a day of U-pick fun. From the first handful you drop into your bucket to the ones you can’t help but snack on along the way, it’s a simple pleasure that tastes like summertime. Across the state, Sweet Grown Alabama farmers are opening their gates, inviting families, friends and berry lovers of all ages to experience fresh, local blueberries straight from the bush.
Whether you’re planning a weekend outing or just looking for a reason to enjoy a little sunshine, U-pick farms offer more than just great fruit—they’re a chance to slow down, connect with where your food comes from and support the hardworking farmers behind it. So grab your bucket, bring the kids and make a memory or two. Peak blueberry season doesn’t last forever, but the sweetness of it sure sticks around.

North Alabama
Bagwell Blueberry Farm- Cullman

Bagwell Blueberry Farm is primarily a blueberry farm, also offering blackberries along with a variety of seasonal fruits and vegetables. U-pick season begins June 12.

Rainbow Omega- Eastaboga

You can expect blueberry picking to begin around June 21 at Rainbow Omega’s Blueberry Hill. For the season, they are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Petals From The Past- Jemison

Petals From The Past is a garden center operated by horticulturalists Jason & Shelley Powell and Dr. Arlie & Gwen Powell. They specialize in heirloom roses, old-fashioned shrubs, perennials, and classic fruit varieties, and focus on an educational approach to gardening with display gardens and a U-pick experience.
Their blueberry patch is open Tuesday through Saturday starting at 9:00 a.m. until sold out, and on Sundays from 1:00 p.m. until they run out.

Powell Blueberry Farm- Citronelle

Famous for letting you fill a one-gallon bucket with plump, juicy blueberries, they’re open Wednesday through Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Berries are $10 per gallon with cash or $12 when paying electronically (CashApp, PayPal or Venmo). SFMNP cards are also accepted.

Gardner's Berry Farm- Robertsdale

Gardner's Berry Farm is open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. now through early July. Fresh, delicious berries are available for $20 per gallon, with buckets and bags provided for your convenience. They accept cash or check each day, and card payments when available.
