Celebrate Sweet Grown Alabama Day on July 26
July 8, 2025
Mark your calendars for Saturday, July 26! Sweet Grown Alabama Day is a time to celebrate everything homegrown and handcrafted right here in Alabama. Whether you're a lifelong supporter of local farmers or just starting to explore the joys of shopping local, this special day is the perfect opportunity to show some love for farmers around you.
Alabama agriculture plays a huge role in our local economy and our communities. Buying local supports family farms, helps preserve rural landscapes, and ensures you're getting the freshest, most flavorful products available. Sweet Grown Alabama Day is a time to recognize these hard-working producers and to enjoy the bounty of our state.

Officially recognized by Gov. Kay Ivey, Sweet Grown Alabama Day encourages everyone to support local by shopping, eating and celebrating the farmers behind our food and goods.
“July 26 is the perfect chance to recognize the farmers, families and producers who are the backbone of our state,” said Aisling Walding, Assistant Director of Sweet Grown Alabama. “Buying local isn’t just a transaction but an investment in our communities, our economy and the future of agriculture in Alabama.”
Participating in Sweet Grown Alabama Day is simple — do at least one thing that supports an Alabama farmer. Support your community by buying from local farmers, cooking with locally sourced ingredients, dining at restaurants that feature local products, visiting farmers markets and much more!
“Sweet Grown Alabama Day is more than a date on the calendar, it’s a call to action,” Walding added. “We want Alabamians to know that their choices matter. Every local purchase helps us build a stronger, healthier and more connected economy.”
