Farmer Profile

McGee Farm

Florence, Alabama

Lenis began his farming career at age 14 with his pick-your-own strawberry operation in 1978. Although we no longer grow strawberries, McGee Farm has evolved to become locally a readily recognized name associated with our pumpkin patch and mum sales. In 2020 we will mark our 24th season as the ""real pumpkin patch"" of Northwest Alabama. During October groups and families can experience the farm with a tractor drawn wagon ride to the pumpkin patch as well as enjoying a visit with our goats and chickens, jumping on our barnyard bounce and savor some country cooking from our farm kitchen. We offer for sale a wide assortment of pumpkins in the barn and thousands of potted chrysanthemums. Fall hours ( from the last Saturday in September through October 31st) are weekdays 3-6 pm, Saturdays 10am-6pm, Sundays 1-5pm and scheduled group tours by appointment. At McGee Farm, we also have our spring greenhouse offerings as ""May Baskets for Mom"" available for purchase through various outlets as well as at the farm. Farm hours for spring are posted on our facebook page as well as the farm website. McGee Farm has mums and spring baskets and container gardens available for wholesale (we do not wholesale pumpkins).
