In 2016 we bought an old homestead in Samantha/Northside, we raised the old house , pushed & cleared privet, briars and stumps to create Twisted Pine Goat Ranch. In December 2020 we got our first goats (Mini-Sable - which is a mix of Saanen and Nigerian Dwarf) and since then we have added Nubians, Nigerian Dwarf and our concentration now is raising Mini-Nubians. We started milking our goats in 2021 and because we have several family members with skin issues, I started looking into making a more natural soap using our goat’s milk. In Season we have raw fresh goats milk, make several types of cheeses and make our own buttermilk and yogurt we also raise chickens for eggs and meat and of course every farm needs crazy guineas running around. We have several gardens for raising fresh vegetables that we make available in our roadsides stand. We have a mature orchard with blueberries, blackberries , muscadines, pears, peaches and apples. I never would have thought our retirement years would be like this but we love it. One thing you can count on with God is that you can never predict when He will change the course of your life and lead you down a path of blessings you couldn’t imagine.
