Scofield Family Farm, where old roots run deep and new memories are always being made.
The farm was first built in the 1970s by Amanda’s grandparents, who poured their hearts into the homestead and the land around it. It was the kind of place filled with garden rows, family gatherings, and stories shared on the porch as the sun went down.
In 2018, after her grandparents passed, Amanda Laird-Scofield and her husband Marcus Scofield knew they couldn’t let that story end. They bought the farm and set out to carry on the legacy—breathing new life into the old homestead while keeping the spirit of family and hard work alive.
The farm also carries another very special piece of family history. Amanda lost her dad, Gary, in 2006. Before he passed, he always dreamed of having a little roadside farm stand called “Preserving Time.” It was his vision of a place where homemade goods, fresh flavors, and simple country living could be shared with others. Years later, with a lot of love and the help of Marcus, that dream became a reality. Today, the roadside stand stands proudly at Scofield Family Farm—helping Amanda keep her daddy’s dream alive and truly preserving a piece of family history.
Life on the farm looks a little different these days. Amanda spends her weekdays behind the chair as a hair stylist and running her salon boutique in Florala, while Marcus works long days in the oilfield. But when the work boots come off and the weekends roll around, you’ll usually find them back on the farm—tending the land, trying new recipes in the kitchen, and stocking the farm stand with homemade goodness.
Of course, no farm would be complete without its four-legged crew. Around here you’ll likely be greeted by Poncho, the loyal blue heeler who thinks he runs the place; Tank, the miniature long-haired dachshund with a big personality in a small body; Sassy Montana, the cat who lives up to her name; and Clarice, the most spoiled Nigerian dwarf goat you’ll ever meet.
Scofield Family Farm is more than just a place on the map. It’s a place built on family roots, hard work, faith, and the dreams of those who came before us. Every jar, recipe, and harvest is our way of honoring the past while sharing a little piece of it with you.
From our family to yours, welcome to Scofield Family Farm — and thank you for helping us keep those memories alive.
