ABBFSA envisions a connected, collaborative, and sustaining Black Belt food system that is rooted in Black Belt agricultural legacy, enables agricultural producers to profit, and strengthens Black Belt communities.
ABBFSA advances a vibrant, equitable, and resilient agricultural community by:
● Developing local and regional markets for the promotion and sale of Black Belt products
● Increasing farmers’ access to land, capital, and infrastructure for food processing and distribution.
● Facilitating connections among regional producers and agricultural networks outside of the Black Belt.
● Expanding access to fresh, healthy food.
● Engaging youth in the Black Belt food system to foster the next generation of farmers and agricultural leaders.
