Our Southern Roots Run Deep

Wicked Garlic

Adam and Sabrina, the passionate duo behind Wicked Garlic, have carved out a unique path in Alabama’s farming scene by growing high-quality, organic garlic. What started as a dream to live more intentionally and reconnect with the land has now become a deeply rooted mission — one clove at a time. Their journey into garlic farming began with curiosity, grew with determination, and flourished through resilience in the face of southern soil, heat and humidity.

Nestled in Alabama’s fertile landscape, Adam and Sabrina didn’t set out to be farmers. They were driven by a love for good food, sustainable living and the desire to offer their community something honest and real. Garlic — pungent, flavorful and healing — became their crop of choice not only for its culinary value but also for its symbolism: strength, patience and endurance. They embraced the organic method wholeheartedly, refusing shortcuts. For them, garlic grown with care tastes better, lasts longer and honors the land it came from.

Growing organic garlic in Alabama comes with its challenges. The southern climate, with its unpredictable rainfall and warm winters, isn’t always "garlic friendly". But Adam and Sabrina saw opportunity where others may have seen obstacles. They spent seasons testing different varieties — from hardy hardnecks like German Extra Hardy to reliable softnecks like Inchelium Red — always searching for those that thrived in their specific microclimate. Through trial and error, they built a diverse garlic patch that could handle The South’s quirks while producing bold flavor and dependable yields.

What sets Wicked Garlic apart isn’t just what they grow, but how they grow it. Every step, from planting to curing, is done by hand with attention to detail that machines simply can’t replicate. They don’t mulch for a reason, knowing their soil and climate better than any textbook ever could. They’ve crafted their own systems based on observation, instinct and hard-earned experience. For them, farming is not a formula; it’s a conversation with the land.

Beyond the fields, Adam and Sabrina have built a community around their garlic. Whether it’s chatting with customers at farmers markets, partnering with local chefs, or sharing planting tips with home gardeners, they are always connecting. Their farm is more than a business — it’s a lifestyle that values food integrity, education and resilience. They believe deeply in buying local, growing clean and showing others that even in Alabama’s heat garlic can thrive without compromise. They are expanding into value-added products like garlic powders, black garlic and artisanal garlic salts. But no matter how far they grow, they'll never lose sight of their roots: one small farm, in one southern state, proving that with grit, good soil and a bit of garlic, anything is possible.

As Wicked Garlic continues to grow, Adam and Sabrina remain grounded in their purpose. They aren’t trying to be the biggest farm — they’re trying to be the most honest. Their garlic is more than a crop, it’s a story of commitment, place and passion. From cloves planted in red clay to braids hanging in southern kitchens, every bulb tells a story, and Adam and Sabrina are just getting started.
