The Farmers Market at Killen Park

The Farmers Market at Killen Park

One Sunday afternoon while reminiscing about the farmers market in Franklin, Tennessee and how much fun it was to be in the group that started it, my husband dared me to start one in Killen. The more I thought about it the more excited I became, and numerous chance meetings and connections were made that furthered the project. The idea was presented to the town council, and they approved of us using the park and supported us in many ways. Brandon Hines of Hines Family Farm was instrumental in developing our market rules and had insight from selling at other North Alabama markets. We worked with the Alabama Farmers Market Authority and our plans really took off. We became a certified market and opened in May of 2017. The Farmers Market at Killen Park is a family friendly weekly event. Shopping under the shade trees is comfortable and our vendors are fun people with great products!

We are a producers only market. Our farmers bring only what they grow locally. You won't find produce from hundreds of miles away. That's how we ensure you will be getting the freshest, most nutritious vegetables and meats for your family to enjoy. Our prepared foods are all from local small businesses and our crafters are true artisans! We believe in supporting our local community by hosting Lifesouth blood mobile, school and church fundraisers, and local musicians.

Our farmers and vendors set the standard for excellence and friendliness! Many bring their children and family along to enjoy visiting with friends. We truly are more like family than business associates. Helping each other and our customers is second nature to us. Need a special order or a large amount of something? Just ask and we will do our best to ensure you get it. We enjoy the friends we've made and meeting people new to our area!

This year we open May 6 featuring local strawberries and spring produce. Our hours are 8:00 a.m.-12:00 noon Saturday mornings rain or shine. And starting in June we have a 3:00-6:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon market that runs through August. We close the Saturday market in September. And last year had our 1st fall festival in October.

Connect with us on Facebook, Instagram and soon to be published website.

Killen Park is the heart of our community. Bring the children so they can enjoy multiple playgrounds. There are walking paths, tennis courts and often ball games to watch. Leashed pets are welcomed. Breakfast in the park with our local food vendors is a nice way to get your weekend started.

Come enjoy the market and find a community!
