Roasted Alabama Cabbage

Ingredients:

  • 1 head of Alabama grown cabbage
  • Olive oil to taste
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar

Directions:
 

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F.
  2. Cut head of cabbage into quarters.
  3. Take the quarters and cut each into four 1-inch-thick steaks. You will have 16 pieces. Do not core the cabbage.
  4. Place parchment paper on a cookie sheet and place cabbage on cookie sheet.
  5. In a small bowl mix olive oil, salt, pepper and sugar.
  6. Brush cabbage tops with mixture.
  7. Roast for approximately 25 minutes.
  8. Remove and place on serving platter.
  9. Drizzle balsamic vinegar on top of each cabbage piece.
  10. Serve warm.
