Farmer Profile

The Lawrence County Farmers Market started out as just a small group of motivated producers who needed a place to bring their produce to the public. With the consent of the local Tractor Supply Store, this group formed a small pop up market on Saturdays in the store parking lot. After several years of growth the Lawrence County Commission saw the need for a permanently built farmers market structure. Built on county property, the market is located just on AL Highway 157 between the Lawrence County Department of Human Resources and the Tennessee Valley Stockyard/ Mel’s Steakhouse.
Since its construction in 2007, the market has had an addition to lengthen the market to accommodate more vendors. The market also has undergone several upgrades in the recent years to make it more inviting to the public such as landscaping and installing central heating and a/c in the restrooms. As the market progresses forward, we look for opportunities that we can stand to meet and hope that we can do so in way that not only helps the producers but as well as the customers!
